who wants a DDR extreme or ITG in Berlin?

the cabinet is a korean 1st mix, but it's currently running a ps2 (jamma converted) with the latest mix (lights and everything is wired and working). will upgrade to a real arcade mix as soon as i get my hands on a PCB for a reasonable price.
Problem is that since Pn'M is so popular in japan, the PCBs are VERY expensive. i found a 8th mix PCB a while ago, but it was about $2000...

The PnM Software isn't on a PCB, PnM 4,5,6,7,8, Animelo, Animelo 2 and Mickey Tunes use the "Firebeat" Hardware where the software is on two CD-Rom and a CF Card.saidk hat geschrieben:Problem is that since Pn'M is so popular in japan, the PCBs are VERY expensive. i found a 8th mix PCB a while ago, but it was about $2000...
The newer PnM Releases use the "Viper" Hardware where all data is on a CF Card.

oh okay. well i'm not really into the technical stuff, but dealer that sold me this machine told me that i could have gotten it with the 8th mix for $2000 extra.
anyway, i guess the hardware that the mixes uses are connected by a jamma connection, and therefore it should be possible to upgrade this machine, correct?

I don't have more informations about the PnM cabinets but I think that they still use the same hardware/connecors as in the older versions.

What about the location?
I think the bowling area is best because of taxes and locations as well. It is nice to have a place where people come together to join their fun, but what about other people. DDR-machines are great to show what you can and the community could grow - and more money would be spent.

i love you saidk and i want a child from you...err...i want to see your machines in berlin! I'm a huge fan of popn music and it would be great for me to play on a real arcade machine. "Potsdamer Platz" sounds good too. I like this place. I really hope you can manage this - would be cool to finally have something like an arcade in berlin with all this bemani stuff.

Any news here?
*keeps his fingers crossed*
Btw. Would it be an idea to get in touch with Positive Gaming? Perhaps they have some advice for possible arcade locations in Berlin. It might be possible that they are looking into putting some ITG-Cabs there themselfes (wishful thinking).

It's not true science unless you can shoot people with it.

NEWS!
I am currently in berlin, and has been looking for possible locations. today i talked to the boss at cinemax @ schönhauser allee and she seemed really positive to the idea of getting a dance machine, i showed her pictures of it and she said she had seen one before and know what it was.
So she is going to talk to someone else in the next couple of days, unless this someone says no, it seems like i can take my DDR solo cab there, and i guess the other machines too (pop'n + KOF2003). and if the DDR gets as popular as i hope, i will probably get an ITG 2 (or 3, if its gets released soon enough) dedicab.
Anyway, it seems like berlin will get it's first dancing machine pretty soon, i guess in a month or so.

Taxes/fee
Hi,
I was surprised that it is really not so easy to have some machines in Germany.
I think the problem with the taxes is these:
In normal "Spielhallen" they "play" with money.
And people can become addict to it.
And this is one reason for paying taxes/fee I heard.
In Germany it is new, that you play to have fun
Best regards,
Ti
